The TRIGG group at Ghent University is seeking applications from scientists at all stages who are highly creative and motivated to perform cutting-edge ageing research. Our collaborative multi-laboratory workspace comprises a stellar team of interdisciplinary scientists and clinicians who synergistically aim to answer new and exciting biological questions. As a translational research group, we investigate clinical relevant outcomes without deviating from the fundamental mechanisms underlying the clinics. Currently, our major projects focus on identifying novel (bacterial) metabolites that impact muscle wasting, investigating the role of immunosenescence in sarcopenia, and utilizing drug repurposing to treat sarcopenia. We have experience in cell work, bio-analytics, real-world data, and clinical muscle measurements. We welcome motivated fundamental researchers, bioinformaticians, as well as clinicians to apply.
